Hi there!

I couldn't find a generic guide to connecting RUTX12 using wireguard to a VPN provider. Could you point me to one?

Hello,

Thank you for contacting us.
In order to use WireGuard, first of all, you will need to acquire private and public keys.
You could do so, by following instruction given in a OpenWRT forum.
Once, you have keys, navigate to Services - VPN - Wireguard (if you do not see WireGuard in a VPN list, please install this package using Package manager), enable service, add new peer with given VPN provider information and save configuration.
Once this done, you could check if tunnel is alive using wg command in SSH/CLI.

Thanks for your reply. I'm a novice and would need more step-by-step guide.

I tried following this https://community.teltonika-networks.com/39531/setting-up-wireguard-vpn-on-home-router-950?show=39531#q39531 as I'm trying to achieve the same thing. I have a wireguard configuration file from my VPN provider but I don't know if it can be used in the router?

I got almost here https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/File:Networking_wireguard_configuration_example_interface_wg_established_trb141_v1.png except I didn't get the handshake.

Thank you for a reply.
At the moment in Teltonika Network wiki we only have WireGuard configuration instruction and WireGuard configuration example.
Also, could be helpful Private WAN solution scenario, which also have full WireGuard VPN configuration example.

If your device does not get a handshake, in most case this is caused of incorrect configuration.
Please check if private and public keys are correct, are you using correct provider given IP.
If still will be no luck with configuration, please generate a troubleshoot file and provide it to us.
You could attach this file with a comment and it will be visible only for you and Teltonika engineers.
