I'm using RUT950 FW 06.08.02 + 06.08.05 and I'm trying to set the WiFi as a main WAN and the mobile as failover. The WiFi network (when the router acts as a STA) is hidden.

If I scan through the Network->WAN page, I can see the network and connect to it through the BSSID. I have also added the network from the Network->Wireless Configuration (SSID, key, BSSID). The router connects to the WiFi and uses it as a main and then fails back to the mobile once the WiFi connection is lost. The issue is that once the device is again within the AP's range, it doesn't automatically connects to the WiFi (or after a reboot). Is it because the WiFi is hidden or do I need to change something in the settings (e.g. retry, or to select the Enable in Multiple Access Points Configuration->General settings)?

EDIT:
Tested with a WiFi network that is not hidden and it works as expected, so I assume it doesn't play well with hidden networks. Also, it seemed to not playing well when the wireless mode selected is 802.11n (and not the mixed g/n)

Thanks

Hello.

Correct, in order for the WiFi Hardware to be aware that the AP is back online it needs a discoverable BSSID.

Please check if your router is upgradable to the newest firmware version, if so, please try to recreate the steps you described. In case you encounter any issue, please send us a Troubleshoot File so we can check it further

Tested with the newest FW and the issue was still there. I will get and will send you the troubleshoot file as soon as I can (but I guess you could also quickly confirm that behaviour)

Thanks

Hello.

Effectively I can confirm that the behaviour described is correct.

In order for the WiFi Hardware to be aware that the AP is back online it needs a Not Hidden SSID.

In any case, please send the Troubleshoot so we can explore the possibility to offer a workaround to that specific case.
