Hello,

Could you tell me how to find the syslog file from the RUT500?

I access the routers system via ssh but there is no syslog file in /var/log.

I would appreciate an answer!

Many greetings

EDIT: I don't want to read the logfile with the routers web-interface! Also i don't want to read the log via "logread -f"!

Hi,

You can use logread command with grep. Then you will see only that details which you want to see.

For example logread |grep user

On some older RUT500 (running approx. 5 year now) I have no syslog available.

At the SSH login i have "root@(none):~#"

If I had "none" as hostname, the syslog isn't available. What could be the reason?

A reboot doesn't help, a troubleshoot file for this logger is not available...
