Hello,

I would like buying a TRB140 or RUT240 (4G) router to remote monitor/get data from/... remote IoT devices (connected to the TRB140 or RUT240). The TRB140 or RUT240 wouldn't have a static public IP address. Just to be sure: can I achieve my use case (a saw a similar question) by using ZeroTier and setting up a remote VPN connection from a local PC/laptop or a cloud platform to the TRB140 or RUT240?

Thanks
Guy

The devices in your case are suitable, but you still need to take care of the security of IoT systems, as attacks are very common lately. In reading information about security, I came across an article: https://www.helpwire.app/blog/remote-access-iot-devices/, which has a lot of interesting information on this topic.

Hi,

Yes, you can.

Both device support Zerotier VPN.
