As the title really.

I have a sim card (Vodafone) that will not connect to the network, yet the RUT360 UI shows that it is connected and can see the network.

The RUT360 shows 4G lit and all the bars...but will not connect to the network.

I swapped the sim for my phones EE sim to test the unit and it connects without issue.

The Vodafone sim works fine in my phone and has data.

Any help would be great. Thanks

Hello,

Can you check and see if you have any APN set up manually on your RUT240, you can find it on WebUI Network -> Interfaces, on the interface MOB1S1A1 press the pencil and look if it has Auto APN enabled or is it selected manually, if the APN set, then try setting the same APN on RUT360 and see if that solves the issue. You can read more about setting the APN on our wiki: https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/RUT360_Interfaces#General_Setup:_Mobile

You can try to reset to factory setting and see If that solver the issue, you can select the reset option that is comfortable for you from the list in our wiki: https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/RUT360_Device_Recovery_Options#Factory_reset

If you have any configuration that is preset and you don’t want to lose, you can make a backup at WebUI System -> Backup -> Backup configuration and download the backup archive. You find more information about backups on our wiki page: https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/RUT360_Backup#Backup_configuration

If after all these steps there is still no Internet connection, could you add a troubleshoot file to this post. You can download the file from WebUI System -> Administration -> Troubleshoot and press download Troubleshoot file. You can find more detailed information on our wiki page: https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/RUT360_Administration#Troubleshoot_2

Hi Paulius,

Thank you for your reply.

I have tried all of the above but the APN was the same on both devices and I have done a factory reset and still nothing on the Vodaphone sim. Very strange behavior, I wonder if it's because its a company SIM card and they have changed something on it, though this is doubtful as the internet works when its in the phone, and the 240 also has a company sim card in it.

I have attached the troubleshooting log file as requested.

In the troubleshoot file I can see that you are using AutoAPN option, but the router is not getting an APN automatically.

Could you send a troubleshoot file where you have set an APN manually to the device?

Could you also test if you can ping 8.8.8.8 from your router?

It also seems that the router is not getting DNS server IP addresses from ISP, could you try and set those manually in WebUI Network -> Interfaces select the MOB1S1A1 and press the pencil icon, go to Advanced setting and the the line Use custom DNS servers add 8.8.8.8 and 1.1.1.1 and see if then you are able to access anything on the web, you can follow the instructions on our wiki page https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/RUT360_Interfaces#Advanced_Settings

Hi Paulius,

I have change the APN and it has resolved. Thank you for your help. Nice and easy fix, though I'm not sure why it didn't do it automatically on the 360 but does on the 240. Good to know for next time.

Thanks again
