Hi,

is there a chance to use the WAN-ethernet port as a second LAN-ethernet port? Want to have a public network connection using the mobile internet, and WiFi and the LAN as private networks. There is a machine connected to the LAN port of the RUT240, but sometimes one won't or coud't use the WiFi. Instead one preferred to connect to a in house LAN. Without changing the cabling and setups, if the second ethernet port (labled as WAN on the RUT240) can act as a second LAN port, this will be an elegant solution for this situation.

Thanks a lot for helping.

With best regards

Gerhard

Hello,

It is possible to do this. Depending on the firmware version (legacy or RutOS, v7+), the configuration steps will be different but I'm leaving links to both wiki articles which cover this configuration example in particular:

For legacy firmware [version RUT2XX_R_00.01.14.5 or older]  - https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/WAN_as_LAN

For RutOS v7+ firmware RUT2_R_00.07.01.2] - https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/Setting_up_WAN_as_LAN

Let me know if this works for you.

Best regards,

Tomas.
