Hello, I have a RUTXR1 and I have defined a custom ddns provider. In the wiki there are some fields for username and password. But in firmware RUTX_R_00.07.01.2 there are no fields for set username and password. So I have configured it in Web GUI and put username + password in the file /etc/config/ddns like documentation of https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/services/ddns/client I think it works. In older firmware, there were the two fields for username and password present. Will be there back with a future release?

Hello,

I have just checked my own RUTX11 with RUTX_R_00.07.01.2 firmware version and the username and password fields are there:

Could you try to re-install the firmware and check again?

Regards.

Of course, if you choose dyn.com, there is a username and password field. But if you choose "custom" there is no username and password field.

Hello,

I have discovered that this change was done intentionally because in most cases username and password are included in the custom DNS URL. For example:

https://dynamicdns.key-systems.net/update.php?hostname=&password=&ip=auto

Hello,

the query url from my provider looks like this:

http://dbsrv2.internic.at/nic/update?hostname=__HOSTNAME__&myip=__MYIP__

There is a basic authentication for this service. So it is not possible to put username and password in url parameters.
