I'm wondering if there is any known limit to how much NAS storage can be attached via the USB port?

Assuming an independent power supply to the HDD, is there any known limit?

When we were experimenting, we could only get up to 2TB drives working, nothing larger, but I don't understand why.

If there is a limit, is there any other device (RUTX14?) that might support a higher limit?

Hi,

The RUTX14 device supports the following file system architectures:

  • FAT
  • FAT32
  • NTFS
By default, RUTX has no limitations on its own, unless it is related to the general SAMBA or file architecture rules that apply to all devices of this type.
Double check what architecture your NAS storage is using. If it is FAT32, the maximum volume size here is 2 TB.
Regards.
