Firmware RUTX_R_00.07.01.2

The router was switched off for a day. When switched on again, the AP name had reverted back to the factory setting. This is not good as I had changed the AP name and so the devices connected to the router using the new no longer connected. How can I prevent a custom AP name being lost when the router is switched off? Thanks

Hello,

Please try reinstalling the software via Bootloader menu. You can find instructions on how to do that here:

Let me know whether this helps!

Best regards,

Sigitas

Hi Sigitas, thanks for quick reply. I'm not sure I understand what this is to achieve. I believe I already have the latest firmware which I downloaded using the WebUI. Are you saying that I should have downloaded this instead via the Bootloader? Why is this?

Hello,

Thank you for a reply.
Well this issue could be caused of firmware issue or faulty flash memory.
Using bootloader device reflash memory and install a fresh copy of firmware. This in most case helps to solve firmware issue.
If bootloader does not help, then most likely that this is hardware issue.
