My boat currently has a Teltonika RUTX11 router installed, and I am looking to pick up WiFi signals at greater distances.

Rather than a standard antenna at the top of the mast and thick cable, could I use a Ubiquiti Bullet AirMAX and a network cable?

Can anyone help with this?

You can use Ubiquiti Bullet AirMAX to increase the distances of your wifi signal. This following the manufacturer's configuration specifications. On the other hand, it is recommended to use the directional or omni antennas offered by Teltonika for better integration. For more information, please visit the following links:

- Power directional antenna: https://teltonika-networks.com/product/qumax-for-rutx11/

- Omni antenna: https://teltonika-networks.com/product/quspot-for-rutx11/

Im guessing you mean using the airmax bullet as the wan input. The issues you would encounter are 1. be aware that the later wifi ac std   bullet (best speed)  only works with another AC bullet  or airmax ACproduct as the AP,  unlike the older m series bullet version which can be client to almost any wifi any AP / router. So if your source source of wifi isnt AC airmax too not going to work with bullet on your mast. The Poynting or other antena/cases for the rutx11 may be your best choice.   .2 The bullet, whichever version , requires a 24v poe injector to send power to it up the mast via ethernet cable. The typical poe injector has ac 115v-240v adaptor not12vdc so you would need to run an inverter suffering 5-10% energy loss as waste heat in conversion or  use a special boost converter type poe injector which is 12v in 24v poe out.
