Hello,

I have an application that requires me to send data out through the RS485 port of the RUT955 and have it echo back. With the RS232, I can just short pins 2/3 together and the data is echoed fine, but when I short Rx+/Tx+ and Rx-/Tx- I don't see any data. Is this kind of configuration possible with RS485?

Hello, this is Martín, Tech Support Engineer for Teltonika Networks.

This is currently not possible, as the RS485 works in half duplex mode, which means the receiver is inactive when the transmitter is active.
I replicated your case and I can indeed confirm this does not work, even when the RS485 port is configured in full duplex mode.
