I updated RUT230/240 to the latest firmware but I still can't correctly set mobile parameters through SMS (I can set service to "auto" but I can't revert to "3g" or "2g", waiting solution from Teltonika support..).
I'm trying to solve using uci via SMS:

  • afwgk3 uci set simcard.sim1.service=2g-only
  • afwgk3 uci commit simcard

On wiki it's reported to execute luci-reload, on different discussion it has been reported I can run luci-reload by sms but it doesn't work....

https://community.teltonika-networks.com/29972/any-way-luci-reload-via-sms-webui-not-updating-ssid-name-change

And no luci-reload command available in SMS command list (also tried with afwgk3 uci luci-reload).
Any solution?
Thanks.

Hello,

Could you clarify, what firmware version are you using, since luci-reload is not used from 7.00 release?

Regarding your question, once you configure your device via uci commands, and execute uci commit command, for the new configuration to work the related services needs to be restarted. To do this via SMS you need to reboot the device by sending command <admin_passwd> reboot.

Best regards,

Hi Žygimantas,

I'm using latest firmware.
I'm using luci reload due I've seen this command in other post, I don't know related firmware version, I'll test without luci reload.
Thanks.

Still not working.
RUT230 updated to latest firmware available: I try to set "2G" in web interface but I still see "3G" as connection type in Status -> Overview -> Mobile.
I supposed just a bug into RUT230 firmware.

Brand new RUT240 updated to 1.14.5.
Web interface
Network -> Mobile -> Service mode "2G only" gives me Status -> Overview -> Mobile -> State: 2G

Network -> Mobile -> Service mode "auto" gives me Status -> Overview -> Mobile -> State: 4G

Now I try to go back to 2G:
SMS: <admin_passwd> uci set simcard.sim1.service=2g-only
answer: Replaced existing value simcard.sim1.service=2g-only

SMS: <admin_passwd> uci commit simcard
SMS (after few minutes): <admin_passwd> reboot

Console to check 2g configuration:
uci show | grep sim1 | grep service
simcard.sim1.service='2g-only'

Web interface
Network -> Mobile -> Service mode: I find it set as "2G only"
but Status ->  Overview -> Mobile -> State: 4G

This means I can't set 2G remotely, once I loose connection (then web interface) there is no way to go back to 2G.

Brand new RUT240 updated to 00.07.01.4
SMS: <admin_passwd> uci set simcard.@sim[0].service=2g
SMS: <admin_passwd> uci commit simcard
SMS (after few minutes): <admin_passwd> reboot

In this case it works (I can correctly switch mode) and uci show and web interface are agree.
2g = 2G only
3g = 3G only
2g_3g = 2G + 3G
2g_lte = 2G + 4G
lte = 4G only
3g_lte = 3G + 4G
auto = automatic
