Model: RUTX12, RUTX12000XXXX, hardware revision 0303, batch 0005, firmware RUTX_R_00.07.01.4

All speed tests are done via speedtest.net against the ISP server.

Network configuration a)

Link 500D/500U, optical with cat5 module, connected via WAN, network configured via PPPoE.  On RUTX speed is on average 300 - 400 D / 300 - 380 U, direct connection to PC on the same cable gives 400 - 470 D, 500 U

Network configuration b)

Link 1000D/1000U, optical, with cat5 module, connected via WAN, network configured via DHCP. On RUTX speed is on average 380 - 600D, 500 - 600U, direct connection or connecting via ISP router / Nighthawk gives stable 970+D/980U

Why does RUTX have such low marks using the network? Mobile links are working ok, but those are not really reaching a speed of WAN anyway, is there a hardware fault or the firmware or is it unable to operate at the speeds?

Hi Andrius,

Unfortunately there is a know issue with the ethernet driver on version 07.01.4 that affects the WAN connection speed, so that's probably why you aint getting full speed.

You can try enabling flow offloading setting on your RUTX12, this settings is located at Network -> Firewall, and this should improve your throughput a bit.

Best regards.

Thank You!

This had an immediate effect - WAN is running 100% on the parameters.

Superb, I was thinking that the router may be faulty since the difference was really large compared to other routers.

Thank You for saving the day!
