Hi
I have the RUT240 and it will run over LTE with no Public IP, so therefore I wont be able to walk the SNMP MIB without put a VPN on. So instead I decided to setup SNMP traps, so that it would send me information on the changes in the device, there appears to be 4 OID's that I can receive traps on including signal, digitial inputs / out puts etc.....

I have successfully  received traps from he device,  however it doesn't appear to identify the actual unit (Serial or name) in the traps results and when you have over 100 of the unit in the field, then its not really any use if you can identify the units?

Any Advice on options ?

Hi,

Unfortunately router do not send such information.

In SNMP Traps shows source IP, perhaps using it could help to identify device.

Hi

Thanks for the quick reply!
Unfortunately not..... The source IP will be from GSM Network and there is no way to identify it against the actual router and it changes each time the unit reboots.

The issue with non public IP SIMS :(

For monitoring you could try to use RMS:https://rms.teltonika.lt/

This system do not require public/static IP.

Hi

Yes but my customer is very data paranoid, so doesn't want to do it that way. I know that RMS is using MQTT? Is it possible to have and MQTT Subscribe/ Publish on the client server to monitor the units. I have only started to research it. Tried SNMP traps but not a runner, I was thinking of using TCP2Com Modbus tunnel, but having looked as the modbus setting it doesn't appear to have the DATA to server option, no field for Public Server IP, there is a port address etc..... but it a bit confusing as to how you would allow it to connect to a public server....

Can you suggest any thirdparty MQTT client that could allow connect on the client servers?

Thanks Again for your quick replies

Please check details about MQTT, perhaps it will help to you: https://wiki.teltonika.lt/view/Monitoring_via_MQTT

Hi

Do you think that the firmware on the RUT240 will be updated to support MQTT broker / publisher setting. I dont think it's currently available?

Hi,

Sorry, I forgot that you are using RUT2xx. MQTT is an optional feature, contact with your sales manager if you  buy routers directly from Teltonika, for this feature.
