The RUT955 uses dnsmasq for DHCP. dnsmasq also supports DNS, but i see no configuration panels in the web interface for DNS (I'm not talking about Dynamic DNS, which is something completely different).

Does the RUT955 support DNS?

Hi,

Could you clarify what mean and what you need?

DNS you can set for WAN and for LAN side.

That's the DNS client. I was wondering if there is also a DNS server in the device.

But i already have the answer:

[~] dig @192.168.2.3

; <<>> DiG 9.10.6 <<>> @192.168.2.3

; (1 server found)

;; global options: +cmd

;; Got answer:

;; ->>HEADER<<- opcode: QUERY, status: REFUSED, id: 972

;; flags: qr rd ra ad; QUERY: 1, ANSWER: 0, AUTHORITY: 0, ADDITIONAL: 0

;; QUESTION SECTION:

;. IN NS

;; Query time: 0 msec

;; SERVER: 192.168.2.3#53(192.168.2.3)

;; WHEN: Fri Apr 12 14:15:22 CEST 2019

;; MSG SIZE  rcvd: 17

Now all that is left to do for Teltonica is to create a web interface to configure the DNS server with hostname entries.

Makes sense?

Edit the config files from command line, I think its /etc/init.d/dnsmasq then restart dnsmasq
