hello,

I have a problem with my Teltonica trb 142.
I forgot the password to connect to the menu of the TRB via the micro USB connection.

I then tried to reset the board to the factory settings by pressing the reset button for 5 seconds until all the reception strength LEDs lit up and then releasing the button. Normally, the board would now start up again and I would have had to enter a new password. Unfortunately, this did not happen. the power LED lights up, but nothing else on the board lights up and I can no longer get a connection.

Can you please help me how to revive the board?

Many thanks in advance.
 Regards
Cord

Hello Cord,

There are some device recovery options you can try with TRB142.

Follow the link: https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/TRB142_Device_Recovery_Options

Hello,

In case you have no web interface access, you can try the following procedure:

1. Turn off/unplug TRB142.

2. Press and hold reset button, at the same time plug the power cable and keep holding reset button for about 5 seconds (mobile signal LED's should start blinking).

3. Download "ADB software" and "rootfs.ubi" file from here: https://kaunas.teltonika.lt:444/f/a9ffe2e9d98446f2aaf3/?dl=1.

4. Install ADB software

5. Place rootfs.ubi file in any easily accessible directory (e.g. in "C:\Test")

6. Open CMD ("Command Prompt" window) with administrator rights

7. Use cd command to navigate to the place where you saved the rootfs.ubi file (Example: cd C:\Test)

8. Then use this command: fastboot flash rootfs_a rootfs.ubi

9. When it completes, use this command: fastboot flash rootfs_b rootfs.ubi

10. When both commands are executed and finished running, unplug power from TRB and plug it again. It should boot up as normal

11. Install intermediate firmware version, which can be downloaded from here:

https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/TRB142_Legacy_FW_Upgrade_Instructions.

12. Install desired firmware version to TRB through WebUI. Latest firmware can be downloaded from here: https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/TRB142_Firmware_Downloads.

If this recovery method did not help, you may need to send the device to warranty for repair. The warranty process is described here.

Best regards,

Hello Zygimantas,

I have tried all your steps but it did not lead to any success.
I then also tried this with an Android mobile phone, with which I was able to connect without any problems.
I can't access either TRB and need further support.

Greetings

Did fastboot command detect your device?

Was the writing of rootfs_a and rootfs_b successful?

Could you provide the product code of your device, I could send you a different rootfs.ubi file to try.

If this does not help, then there is not much that can be done and, as suggested above, you should return your device for warranty repair or replacement.

Best regards,
