Good morning,
During the installation of the DDNS the following error message popped up:
"Package installation failed. Check your internet connection or try to update package list"

The FW is RUT9M_R_00.07.02.3
It seems to me as it has been installed (Dynamic DNS is available in the Service menu), but in the Packages Manager the Status is "Available"
At the same time the Flash Memory usage increased to 97,53 % in the System Status Overview.
In the Packages Manager menu the Flash Memory index increased to 101% that is quit impossible from my point of view.

If I try to install again it shows "Not enough space in device".
I tried to delete User's defaults configuration but a message pops up "An unexpected error occures"

Can you please check and come back with a solution.

Hi!

I have the exact same issue after updating from the latest stock FW to 07.02.03.

After a working setup with latest stock FW the MQTT Broker and DDNS service was removed and can not be reinstalled, I get the same error message as in previous post.

Regards,
Björn

Hello,

Thank you very much for your quick reply.

I Restored to user's defaults and the flash memory usage went down to 43,6 %, see screenshot Memory_1
After installing the DDNS the flash memory is again full, see screenshots Memory_2 and _3

This is the second very basic feature that did not work, it is a bit frustrating.

Please advise.

Hello,

The RUT956 itself has only 16MB flash memory in total.

This limited memory is further divided into partitions for bootloader, kernel, firmware, which take up a significant amount already, leaving a few MB for the user. Due to this, a package, even if it is relatively lightweight as DDNS in your case, results in almost filled flash.

If you entered the df -h command in the CLI/SSH terminal, you could have more details related to available space.

Check command cat /proc/mtd to list existing partitions.

RUT956 can support external USB flash drive for memory expansion: https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/RUT956_USB_Tools#USB_Mount_Settings.

You can read more about flash segmentation in OpenWRT here: https://openwrt.org/docs/techref/flash.layout.

Best regards,
