I use a RUT955 with this firmware RUT9_R_00.07.02.3. I want to connect to a special APN and the username contains a "@" and it seems that this is a problem.

The username might be "username@example.com"

The password might be "ThePassword"

When I try to connect the password and username will be mixed.

Thu Jul 21 18:23:25 2022 daemon.info unhandler[2815]: gsm send: AT$QCPDPP=1,1,ThePassword,username@example.coThePassword

What can I do?

The solution for this issue was introduced in version RUT9_R_00.07.02.5 and worked well. But this issue recurs in RUT9_R_00.07.03.2, RUT9_R_00.07.03.4 and RUT9_R_00.07.03.5.

Username and password will be merged to a single string which contains parts both parameters.

Hello,

The issue is indeed present in 7.3.x firmware releases.

The developers are aware of this, solution should be included in 7.4 firmware release, which should be out by the end of this week.

Best regards,

Hello,

Thank you for contacting us.

There has been a new firmware release. Please download it from here and see if it helps.

If the issue persists, I would like you to attach a troubleshoot file to your question or send it in a personal message. Please, replicate the issue, then access router's WebUI, go to System -> Administration > Troubleshoot section and download troubleshoot file from there.

Best regards,

Hello,

I have just updated to the firmware RUT9_R_00.07.02.4 and the issue is still there. I'll send you the troubleshoot file in a private message.

Regards

Hello,

From the troubleshoot file it appears to be not a problem of the symbols used, but of the length of the username. Removing 2 letters from the username results in the username not being merged to a single string with the password. Nevertheless, this is an issue, which I have forwarded to the RnD department.

Best regards,

As workaround I downgraded the router to the firmware RUT9XX_R_00.06.09.2, with this version the connection can be established.

The issue is set to be solved with RUTOS 7.2.5 firmware release.
