I am unable to upgrade the firmware on a RUT240. Current installed version is RUT2_R_00.07.01.2.  I have tried downloading all current available via https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/RUT240_Firmware_Downloads. Every time I try to update the firmware I receive the following error message:

"The uploaded image file does not contain a supported format. Make sure that you choose the generic image format for your platform."

Hello,

Could you check if the device displays correct, logical device values in the WebUI Status -> System section, are there any unknowns?

Could you connect via CLI/SSH and post the output of the following command:

  • hexdump -C /dev/mtd14

Best regards,

In the System section under DEVICE, Product code, Serial number, Hardware revision, and Batch number are unknown. Product code is indicated as "UNKNOWNXXXXX" and all the other fields are all 0's.  Under MAC ADDRESSES, Ethernet LAN MAC address is indicated as all F's and the Ethernet WAN MAC address is indicated as all 0's as well.

When I enter the hexdump syntax into the CLI, I only get "No such file or directory Bad file descriptor"

Hello,

One of the router's internal files got corrupted. In order to restore it, I would need you to send me a private message with device's serial number and arrange a remote AnyDesk session to restore it.

I have the same problem.
