I have a Problem with my RUT950 which disconnects a few times every hour.

In the Logfiles I found these entries:

usb 1-1: USB disconnect, device number 2
[   72.799497] option1 ttyUSB0: GSM modem (1-port) converter now disconnected from ttyUSB0
[   72.807883] option 1-1:1.0: device disconnected
[   72.813212] option1 ttyUSB1: GSM modem (1-port) converter now disconnected from ttyUSB1
[   72.821593] option 1-1:1.1: device disconnected
[   73.028536] option1 ttyUSB2: GSM modem (1-port) converter now disconnected from ttyUSB2
[   73.036885] option 1-1:1.2: device disconnected
[   73.042213] option1 ttyUSB3: GSM modem (1-port) converter now disconnected from ttyUSB3
[   73.050578] option 1-1:1.3: device disconnected
[   73.055689] qmi_wwan 1-1:1.4 wwan0: unregister 'qmi_wwan' usb-1b000000.usb-1, WWAN/QMI device
[   73.880098] usb 1-1: new high-speed USB device number 3 using ehci-platform
[   74.894535] usb usb1-port1: Cannot enable. Maybe the USB cable is bad?

Firmware is the latest: RUT9_R_00.07.02.6, I also have a second RUT950 which shows the same Problem.

I tried Factory Reset, different SIM Cards, Firmware downgrade, Manual APN Entry, removing SIM Pin but the Problem still exists.

I also added a troubleshoot File to this request, thanks for your help and kind Regards.

Some USB related issues were addressed in latter modem module firmware releases, so I would suggest you to try updating it.

Before attempting the update, you need to connect your router a different WAN source, either wired or wireless. Below are the instructions:

  • Access your device via SSH and execute the following commands:
    • opkg update
    • opkg install modem_updater
    • opkg install sshfs
    • modem_updater -g
  • The last command will list available firmware versions. Next modify the following command:
    • modem_updater -i <ID> -v <VERSION>
      • <ID> - should be 1-1, however, in case of an error you should be shown a correct ID.
      • <VERSION> - enter the latest firmware version from the list of the previously executed command, it should be EC25ECGAR06A12M1G.

Best regards,
