Hello,

I would like to create a link between 2 RS232 devices.
I have set up an IPSEC vpn between the lan of each RUT955.

I have configured the RS232 port as shown on the diagram.
Is there an important parameter I am forgetting?

Thanks

Hello,

Please check firewall to see if the port 5004 is open on 10.10.26.1 device and also that the VPN tunnel is up and running. You can check hat by going to CLI and executing command ipsec status

Hello,

ipsec is up, I can ping the lan of the other rut.
The rules in the firewall are the source of my problems

I need to allow 2 rules:

source ip lan Rut1 to destination IP Lan Rut2 port 5004

and

source ip lan Rut2 (ipsec)   to     destination IP Lan Rut1    port 5004

Where and how I set up these rules
an example?

Thank

Hello,

Sorry for the delayed response. I'll elaborate on Paulius' response.

To configure these traffic rules, on the legacy WebUI:

  • Navigate to Network → Firewall → Traffic Rules;
  • At the bottom, there will be an option to Open Ports on Router;
  • Set any name, needed protocol, and external port (5004 could be used);
  • When the rule is created, scroll to the bottom of the list, and press edit on the created rule;
  • Source zone: used VPN type;
  • Destination zone: Device (input);
  • Destination port: 5004;
Let me know if any more information is needed!
Best regards,

Hello,

I'm sorry, was thinking of OpenVPN.

Is the IP filter in the serial communication set or not?

If not, could you please try setting it to allow IP 0.0.0.0/0 from the LAN, and if that does not help WAN as well?

Best regards,
