Hi,

for some use cases, I need local storage of the recorded data. Can the TRB145 or any other device store the data on a connected SD card (e.g. via micro USB reader) or HDD?

Many thanks!

Hello,

thank you for reaching out! Currently our only device with native MicroSD card support is RUT955. It offers Cat 4 LTE connectivity, dual SIM for failover, RS232/RS485 serial ports, USB 2.0 host functionality, GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) for location services and time synchronization, our Remote Management System (RMS), and finally, many Input/Output pins for endless customization.

Unfortunately, our TRB series of devices only operate as USB slave devices, meaning it cannot support any accessories. However, quite a few of our routers have USB 2.0 host capabilities:

  • RUT955
  • RUT956
  • Entire RUTX lineup

With these devices, external storage devices can be connected (up to 0.5A at 5V) thus extending device storage greatly. USB host devices also support USB-to-serial connections, so if 256MB of onboard flash storage is enough for your application, USB port can be used to connect to serial device and store the information on the device locally using any of the RUTX series of devices.

Alternatively, I'd recommend checking out Services on our RutOS operating systems. There are many services and protocols that offer data transfer capabilities and VPN services can be utilized if security is the top-most priority. This can be done on any of our RUT, RUTX, or TRB series of devices.
