Hi all,

I'm happy owners of RUTX12 since november '22. This router have two independents modems. I want to activate 2 differents wifi from 2 differnets modem. Example: modem1 - first sim card - wifi on 2,4GHz and 5GHz invisible for guest (only for home), modem2 - wifi on 2,4GHz and 5GHz for quest from second sim card (another provider). Is this possiblle? How I can make it? I'm not proffesional computer specialist.

Thanks for answer,

Hello,

For this configuration, you will need to follow a couple of guides.

The first one requires you to create a separate wireless client interface. For instructions please refer to the link below:

https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/How_to_set_up_a_guest_WiFi_network_on_RUTX

A note:

  • You need to enter a new network name in interface configuration. If the firmware version of your device is 7.0 and above, for this, in the Network field dropdown menu select --Custom--, enter a new name and press enter. This will create a new interface in Network -> Interfaces section.
  • Disabling device access on ports 80, 443, 22 is optional, but recommended.

Next, to split traffic from the networks to be routed via separate mobile interfaces, please follow instructions in the following link:

https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/Splitting_Network_Traffic_Via_Multiple_Interfaces

A note:

  • You already have a new LAN interface, thus the first three sections can be skipped and your configuration continues from Configuring advanced static routes part. Only follow instructions in this section.
  • Be aware that, if the firmware version you are configuring on is 7.0 and above, interface in the routing table configuration window may be displayed as lan, even if you have saved as mob1s1a1 or mob2s1a1. Tis is simply incorrect display. Correct configuration can be confirmed by logging to your device via SSH and executing the following command:
    • cat /etc/config/network

Best regards,
