Question

For our IOT devices we are using the RUT240. Were doing some testing today and noticed the data usage  is around 9MB after fooling a round a bit on the WEB UI generated in RMS. the simcards we use only have a mothly 2 MB data limit, which is plenty for normal use. Is there any way to create a WEB UI without the visuals so we won’t reach the limit with every online intervention? 

If not I assume uploading a backup config would be the most efficient way data wise.

Hello,

Unfortunately, it is not possible to to modify WebUI to for your data constraints.

In your case, SSH access seems a more appropriate approach.

What exactly is your usage for WebUI?

The best option would probably be to download the backup and check  the files in the config folder, adjust them in the config folder or upload the backup to a device in the office and configure it locally.

We are still exploring the possibilities, but in essence its to lower the amount of interventions needed. I am currently writing down some useful RMS features for our technical support department.

Local device configuration would definitely be the best solution, in terms of data consumption.

If all routers require identical configuration, even a script could be implemented to achieve configuration.
