Hello,

I would like to open port 5004 of the Lan port of a Rut955. The software version is 7.03.

The ping is already working between the host and the Rut.
C:\>ping 10.112.27.1

Response from 10.112.27.1 : bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=64
Reply from 10.112.27.1 : bytes=32 time=1 ms TTL=64
Response from 10.112.27.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=64
Response from 10.112.27.1 : bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=64

Ping statistics for 10.112.27.1:
    Packets: sent = 4, received = 4, lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate loop duration in milliseconds:
    Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 1ms, Average = 0ms

Port 5004 is blocked:

C:\>telnet 10.112.27.1 5004
Connecting to 10.112.27.1...Unable to open a connection to the host, on port 5004: Failed to connect

What is the configuration to allow this flow?

Also, the configuration of the RS232 port as a server with port 5004 allows this flow.
Can you give me the implicit rule of this authorization.

Best regards

Hello,

just to clarify, you're trying to reach a telnet-enabled device from the RUT LAN network, is that correct? Is the device with an IP of 10.112.27.1 RUT955 or the telnet device?

Awaiting your response!

Best regards,

The Lan port of the RUT is 10.112.27.1/24.  The machine connected to the RUT is 10.112.27.110.
I want port 5004 to be open on the RUT, 10.112.27.1.

telnet 10.112.27.1 5004 should be OK

Best regards,
Jeff

Telnet is disabled on our devices by default, as it is considered unsafe.

If you'd like to enable Telnet, please navigate to System → Administration → Access Control and check the option "Enable Telnet access". By default, it uses port 23, so it might need to be changed according to your needs.

telnet is only a tool, I could have used nmap,
here is the result with nmap :

Host name : 10.112.27.1
Port : 5004
Protocol : tcp
Status : Filtered

on the RUT, I enable the RS2332 port with port 5004
Here is the result of nmap :
Host name : 10.112.27.1
Port : 5004
Protocol : tcp
Status : Open

I would like the 5004 to be open, without enabling the RS232 port of the rut955

Could you please try editing your port forward rule and set the protocol to "All"?

Yes I can do it.
Can you make me a print screan?

Hello,

Before that, can you verify, that this is how the port forward rule looks like?

If yes, and it does not work, then try setting the "Protocol" field to "Any".
