Hello,

here is a wiki article… https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DMZ_(computing)

Please, look at the images showing two different DMZ configurations, one with one single firewall and another with two firewalls.

I have two questions.

Is it correct that my Teltonika RUTXR1 is not only a router and a gateway but also a „Firewall“ in respect to the first DMZ image? Is it correct that I could build the DMZ from the first image simply using two interfaces, lets say LAN 192.1681.1/24 and DMZ 192.168.1.5/24?

Is it correct that if I have an OPNSense firewall and I connect it with my Teltonika interface LAN 192.1681.1/24 I would have the  second image DMZ infrastructure?

Thanks.

Regards,

Equi

Hello

1. RUTXR1 can also act as a firewall: https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/RUTXR1_Firewall#DMZ

2. To Build a DMZ it requires 2 different networks.

3. If you already have a firewall to your router, it will be more secure when you use DMZ it's just like having 2 layer of firewall security to your system.

Thank You
