I just upgraded from RUTX_R_00.07.03.4 to RUTX_R_00.07.04, but after the upgrade I can no longer login to the web interface.

I keep getting the message that the device is unreachable after entering my username and password, I can SSH into the RUTX11 no problem and can issue a restart and the router reboots and comes back online, but I just cannot get in via the web interface.

I tried updating to RUTX_R_00.07.04 again via the CLI using the sysupgrade tool, but same issue with the WEBUI.

I ended up rolling back to RUTX_R_00.07.03.4 using sysupgrade to get the WEBUI working again, so as it is I am back on RUTX_R_00.07.03.4.

Looks like an issue with RUTX_R_00.07.04?

The log below shows the logon attempt with RUTX_R_00.07.04 :-

The issue is not where I thought it might be.

Honestly, I can't really spot it.

The logs actually indicate successful connection.

Fri Mar 10 09:43:27 2023 kern.notice Authentication was successful from HTTPS 192.168.1.11
Fri Mar 10 09:43:27 2023 daemon.err uhttpd[3851]: vuci: accepted login for admin from 192.168.1.11

Though the connection is made through HTTPS. Could you try to login via HTTP?

Also, could you check if it is not a browser issue, by clearing browser's cache, logging in incognito mode or trying a different browser?

Best regards,

Hello,

Is the WebUI accessible after downgrade?

Could you update to 7.4 again, login to the router via SSH and generate a troubleshoot file with the following steps:

  1. Execute the command: troubleshoot.sh
  2. Wait a minute for the troubleshoot to generate (do not mind the errors).
  3. Use WinSCP/scp (for instructions refer here) or similar tool to download troubleshoot.tar.gz file from the router's /tmp/ directory.

Attach the downloaded file by editing your question.

Best regards,

Yes the WEBUI works fine when I downgrade

Did the update again and ran troubleshooter as requested, see below (troubleshooting log file attached to my original post) :-

Error below when on FW 7.04 :-

Already tried Incognito mode, tried a different browser and even tried on a different PC that I have never used to connect to the RUT before. Same issue. Both HTTP and HTTPS, but no issue when I roll back to 07.03.4

Keep config files over reflash (Y/n): Y

I have not tried setting the device to factory defaults as I did not want to do that, I will give that a try next :-(

Interestingly, I see that RUTX_R_00.07.04 has been pulled from the official download page and only RUTX_R_00.07.03.4 is available to download, although the change log still shows for RUTX_R_00.07.04

Have you tried to update with Keep settings option enabled, or reset device to defaults after update?
