Dear Sirs,

Do you have any example configuration for linux client on Tap mode?

I have 1 RUT550 as Server and 3 RUT550 as clients on Tap mode and works fine. I try to add a linux client but i cann't managed it.

The connection established but i cannot ping any other client

Best Regards

George

Hello,

Are you sure you mean Tap mode? Because Tap mode is only used to connect two endpoints (not more).

This is wrong.

Okay, I was mixing it up with Static Key for some reason.

It's basically the same configuration as TUN: https://wiki.teltonika.lt/index.php?title=OpenVPN_client_on_Linux

But you have to specify dev tap0 instead of dev tun. Also, every client has to be in the same subnet beforehand.

You can find a sample configuration with instructions here: https://forums.openvpn.net/viewtopic.php?t=20155

like i said i managed to connect but the tap0 interface has no ip and i cannot ping the other 3 clients which are behind the 3 RUT500.

Can you show the Linux config and a config of one of the routers?

Are you sure the paths to the certificates are correct? Looks like you've just specified the file names. It should look something like this:

ca /etc/openvpn/easy-rsa/keys/ca.crt
cert /etc/openvpn/easy-rsa/keys/client8.crt
key /etc/openvpn/easy-rsa/keys/client8.key

Of course, you should specify the path depending on where you keep the crt and key files on your computer.

Because i run the command from the /etc/opevpn path is the same.

But ok i change like you say but the same happens, (connection is made but no ping is possible to the other clients)

I have same problem in this situation:

Mikrotik as OVPN server and RUT955 as OVPN client, authentication over password.

In GUI there is no IP address for OVPN, but in CLI I see tap0 intreface with right addrees pushed from the server.

In statictics I see some traffic over this interface, but ping or traceroute does not work.
