I got RUT950 - 101030 HW rev.0202.

I need to upgrade my device to most actual FW as possible.
How to do it safely?

Now works in "safe mode" because I tried to download newest FW, but RUT did not accept it.

Hello,

The "cleanest" way to install new firmware is to use the bootloader procedure. However, if the device came with legacy firmware from the factory (<=v6.xx), then the bootloader will only accept the legacy firmware to be flashed.

In this case, you should flash the latest legacy firmware using the bootloader (RUT9XX_R_00.06.09.2), and then from the WebUI, you'll be able to flash the latest firmware (RUT9_R_00.07.04) without keeping the settings.

However, if you're updating the device with two or fewer firmware release gaps, this should not be needed, and the device can be updated with the keep settings option.

I tried to do it (RUT9XX_R_00.06.09.2), answer from rut is:

Something went wrong during update. Probably you have chosen wrong file (too big or too small) or you were trying to update ART on device with unknown FLASH type (and size) which is not allowed. Please, try again or contact with the author of this modification. You can also get more information during update in U-Boot console.

What now?

Hello,

Which URL are you using to install the update? http://192.168.1.1/index.html needs to be used and not http://192.168.1.1/uboot.html

Alternatively, you can update the bootloader of the device to accept the newer firmware.

I've sent you the bootloader file via a private message.

Here are detailed step-by-step instructions on how to upgrade the router's bootloader:

- First of all, please set a static IP address on your network interface (e.g. 192.168.1.10)
- Use private/incognito Web browsers window with cleared/disabled cache
- Power on the device while holding the reset button. Flashing all 4 Ethernet LEDs indicates that the bootloader’s webserver has started.
- Access router via web browser http://192.168.1.1/uboot.html
- Upload new bootloader's fw "u-boot_tlt-rut9xx_webui.bin".
- Wait a few minutes. Routers LEDs should stop flashing. Only LED with LAN cable connected to that port should be active.

Can you send me this file again, please.

I can not open it from current mail.

I used page .index and now my rut accepted FW RUT9XX_R_00.06.09.2 and works fine.
But shows bootloader ver 1.0.0 and I'd like to update it too.

And then I will try to install newest FW.
