Hi all,

please be kind and let me know your answers for the next questions

1. Is it possible to connect to a wireless hotspot in addition to the 2 sims for wan uplinks?
2. Does it use the 2 sim sources in an active-active mode with load balancing between the sims or are they only failovers?
3. Both of the questions apply in case of a wired wan connection too (for 3 and 4  parallel load balanced uplinks if hotspot connection is possible)

4. Is it suitable for outdoor use and streaming?

RUT955 to be discontinued end of 2023.

Active-active mode needs two modems; only one installable in RUT955.

Hi,

  1. Yes, it is possible to connect to a wireless network to act as a WAN source. More details HERE
  2. RUT955 uses 2 SIM Cards as active-passive mode. It has a feature called SIM Switch meaning if primary sim is down, secondary sim will be in active mode.
  3. Yes, RUT955 also has an interface for Wired WAN that can be used for load balancing with wireless WAN. For more information about load balancing, kindly click this weblink.
  4. Our devices has a protection rating of IP30 but we recommend you to use a casing for extra security.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Janmiguel
