We are using Starlink on our boat connected to the WAN port of the RUTX11.

when we are coastal, we have unlimited bandwidth but when we are doing ocean crossings, we have to pay per GB of usage.

We normally get about 200Mbps and would go through data very fast when offshore.

I would like to be able to have unlimited speed when we’re on unlimited data and then be able to turn on an option that limits the WAN to something like 2Mbps.

is there a way to do this?

Hi,

You could use SQM/QoS on LAN or Hotspot functionality to limit the speed.

You could then enable or disable it manually. You can also create a new configuration profile where the limits are set, and then, switch to it either manually or on the geofencing event (not necessarily a perfect solution, but something to consider). Of course, you will need to know the longitude and latitude for the geofencing.

Kind Regards,

Andzej
