Question

We are using SIM cards with fixed private IPs. Our remote server is connected via ipsec to the providers server. We can ping the router from our remote serer and have ssh access. The provider is not blocking any ports. But we are not able to connect to the RUT955 RTU Mobus Gateway.

The listening IP in the RS485 settings is set to 0.0.0.0. No allowed IPs for the interfaces are set. This works fine if we access the RTU Modbus Gateway from LAN.

Hello,

Try adding WAN interface in RS485 configuration window, in "Allow IP" field leave it empty (mean everything) save it and see if you will be able to access rs485 modbus remotely via IPsec.

Also, you can add second LAN interface to RS485 configuration.

With this option it works. But sometimes we get an error

mbpoll: Connection failed: Operation now in progress.

I do not know why.
