Question

I've tried configuring an IPSEC VPN using as a REMOTE ENDPOINT VPN the public IP address in numeric format and working properly.

Using a DNS name that corresponds to the public IP used above instead of the public IP in numeric format does not work.

Using the router's internal diagnostics, the DNS name is correctly resolved.

The firmware is already updated to the latest version available.

Do I need to enable any particular options to make it work?

Which firmware are you using?

I tested this situation on RUTFW ver.: RUT2XX_R_00.01.10 which acts as an ipsec client. It accepts a domain name as Remote VPN endpoint  and successfully resolves IP and establishes an ipsec connection.
