RUT955 Mobile disconnects and no packet after reconnection

We are testing new modem, RUT955, ver 06.04.5, Mobile (only) connection, Vodafone SIM - Italy,

The Mobile connection randomly drops (usually between 10min 2hours), automatically reconnects in few (<10) seconds  (the status and Log pages report "Connected"), but traffic stops: default route disappears, ifconfig lists a 3g-ppp interface.

  • 2 LTE antennas are "firmly" connected
  • Tested in different sites, same problem (even if on avarage disconnection time changes). RSSI (gsmctl -q) -77dBm
  • We use the modem to build IPSEC connection to Main Office. (It  works as long as data flow)

When default route is manually re-added, IP packets start flowing again.

I'm having the exact same problem after upgrading firmware on Rut950 to 6.04.05. Previously using version 3 firmware with no problem. Also using ipsec vpn connection. Mobile data disconnects, reconnects almost immediately but Internet access lost. Full reboot or modem reboot clears problem.

Hello.

We strongly recommend to reach out to your sales manager representative and send him a troubleshoot-file of the device so he can create a query and we can analyze the subject deeper.

We temporaly solved with a script, runs every minute, that adds a default route. Also sent log files to the seller that should be in contact with Teltonika.
