Hey Everyone,

I am running SoftEther on VPS as the Server and can connect to Server with TAP from the RUT240 but not TUN. I can connect both TAP and TUN on Windows PC but the RUT240 seems to have issues.

SENT CONTROL [*******.softether.net]: 'PUSH_REQUEST' (status=1)

[20824]: AUTH: Received control message: AUTH_FAILED

[20824]: TCP/UDP: Closing socket

[20824]: SIGTERM[soft,auth-failure] received, process exiting

I have reset the router multiple times, created new users and certs on the server. Just seems odd windows will connect with the same settings and Tap connects fine, just not Tun.

Hi,

When you set TUN in router, did you change router LAN IP to another subnet?
by anonymous
No, I have left LAN IP alone which is 192.168.5.1, do I need to change something with the LAN?
by anonymous
Change to another subnet, in TUN mode server and client IPs should be in different subnets.

I'm using SoftEther on a VPS as the server and all my RUT240 will be the clients connecting to this server to allow remote access to PLC on local LAN. But yes the Client is different IP to the server. I think we have something else weird going on. Maybe a bug in the firmware.

For anyone else having trouble the RUT240 Wouldn't connect with numbers in the password for tls/auth. As soon as I changed password with no numbers it was fine.
