Hi,

This RUT950 is causing me problems. It is set up with a 1NCE SIM and is in an area with good signal.

Sometimes it works. (appears in RMS, devices connected to it can access the outgoing internet, and I can access the devices on it via forwarded ports)

Sometimes it doesn't work (doesn't appear in RMS, devices connected to it cannot access the outgoing internet, and I cannot access the devices on it via forwarded ports BUT the SIM shows as online and I CAN ping the router's IP)

Any idea what might cause the router to respond to pings but not "connect to the internet" in this scenario? It is a 5 hour drive to get to the router and back so I would like to try understand the issue before going to see it in person.

Thanks

Hi,

Please upgrade to latest release: https://wiki.teltonika.lt/view/RUT9xx_Firmware

And if you have possibility, do not keep old settings when upgrading!

When issue persist, please try to reach router via SSH.

Also, have you tried to send status or reboot SMS to that router? If so, what was the response?

This appeared online again long enough to upgraded FW remotely. I had to keep the old settings because it won't otherwise auto set the APN and I would have lost visibility of it.

The next time it happens (going offline) I'll try sending the SMSes to the router. Will read up on how to setup SSH access shortly. :-)

Ok, we will wait your feedback if issue persist.

Hi,

This has happened again. The router shows as offline in RMS but online in the SIM management platform and responds to a status request via SMS as having a data connection and IP address.

It responds to pings.

But I am unable to connect to the GUI via RMS and I am unable to connect to the devices connected to the router via forwarded ports.

What should I be checking here? This appears to be a router issue not a SIM issue.

Hi,

Have you attached both LTE antennas to router?

I have checked on of your router (which now is online) and it has weak signal -103 dBm.

You was also mentioned that "It responds to pings", then this happens could you connect to router via public IP and download a troubleshoot package from it?

Hi,

Which router are you checking to see 103 dBm?

The "Millenium" router that I took the screen grab from has both antennas securely attached and is in a good signal area but seems to just drop connection. It does not currently have http access to GIU available externally. It is online now (says SMS) but RMS says no. I will take a troubleshoot file from this when it is next online and enabled remote http access.

I think the "Martin Crane" router is in a poor signal area and it needs me to go and look at how it was installed. (I did not install this one and the guy who did put the only SIM in slot 2 etc) I don't see 103 dBm though; more like 75 dBm. I've downloaded a troubleshoot file and setup access to the GUI via http. Can you access that troubleshoot file via RMS?

Hi,

The Millenium route his online again, I've downloaded the troubleshoot file, and I've enabled remote ssh / http GUI / cli to allow for future troubleshooting.

Can you take the troubleshoot file form RMS to investigate or do I need to send it to an email address?

Thanks,

FW RUT9XX_R_00.06.05.1 has fixed this issue.

It has introduced a new issue: the router shows as being connected to RMS (and the GUI is accessible etc) but no charts are being shown and the connection type is showing as unknown.

I will open a new thread for this.
