Morning all,

Regarding the RUTX11, for how many concurrent users this device is suitable? The specs don't mention anything. I don't like to max out the CPU.

Wifi on the RUTX11 will not be used, so only LAN usage.    RUTX11 <-LAN -> Sonicwall <-LAN-> WIFI access points

Wifi devices will be laptops, phones and tablets for general internet use like web browsing, whatsapp etc.

Thanks!

Hello,

It would be most helpful if you could tell me what number of clients do you expect? It's a fairly new device so we haven't done all the possible tests. But we have done such tests on our older models. For example, RUT9xx series devices can handle about up to 80-100 WiFi clients. RUTX series devices have a much more powerful CPU, so it it will be able to handle more clients (especially via Ethernet).

Hi, thanks.

Maximum amount of concurrent clients will probably be around 70, but not all of them will be active at the same time as the people using those devices are devided over a dayshift and nightshift. (Sonicwall DHCP server issued 58 IP's at the moment)

So, 70 online at the same time of which 35 active and 35 connected but not actively used.

The wifi on the RUTX11 won't be used, only 1x ethernet connection to the firewall WAN input.

Well, based on that, RUTX11 should handle the load easily.
