I use a RUT955 in aremote place with only battery power and solar charging. So I have to minimize current draw. As far as I know, there is no sleep mode for the RUT955.
The plan is, to power on the RUT955 by a relais and a timer for six times a day to transfer data. As cutting the power is normaly not a safe method to shutdown a device, my question is:

Is it safe to power on and to power off the RUT955 in that way, or will the router crash one day due to this method?

Hello,

Everything should be alright, we haven't seen any issues if a router is turned off with cutting off power.
