Hello,

"RUT9XX_R_00.01.497_WEBUI" firmware version can only be installed in RUT9 devices with "RUT9xx 1xxxxx" product code. You will not be able to install this firmware on newly received routers.

Upgrading firmware from "RUT9XX_R_00.01.497_WEBUI" to latest firmware remotely is not possible, since before upgrading firmware, you must upgrade router's bootloader (and this can only be done locally, by having physical connection to the device).

Here is detailed step-by-step instructions how to upgrade router's bootloader and firmware:

  • First of all please set static IP address on your network interface (e.g. 192.168.1.10)
  • Use private/incognito Web browsers window with cleared/disabled cache
  • Download latest router's bootloader and firmware version from here ( https://wiki.teltonika.lt/view/RUT9xx_Firmware )

  • Power on the device while holding reset button. Flashing all 4 Ethernet LEDs indicates that bootloader’s webserver has started.
  • Access router via web browser http://192.168.1.1/uboot.html
  • Upload new bootloader's fw "uboot_for_tlt_rut900_3.0.1_webui".
  • Wait few minutes. Routers LEDs should stop flashing. Only LED with LAN cable connected to that port should be active.
  • Power off the device.

  • Power on the device while holding reset button again.
  • Access router via web browser http://192.168.1.1/index.html
  • Upload new router's firmware "RUT9XX_R_00.06.xx_WEBUI.bin".
  • Wait few minutes. Router's LEDs should stop flashing. Only LED with LAN cable connected to that port should be active.

  • Access router via web browser http://192.168.1.1

Hi,

Thanks for the information.

The original request was because we are trying to get the ICCID from our sim cards in the network.

We notice that the command gsmctl -J does not work on 1.497 firmware but does on 03.832.

Most of our routers in the network live are 1.497.

Is it possible to upgrade 1.497 to 3.832 over the air without boot loader upgrade?

Also the reason i was asking for a copy of 1.497 is that the only router i have in lab is 03.832 and i want to test upgrading from 1.497 to 03.832 so need to downgrade this lab router.

Hello,

No, you will not be able to upgrade RUT9 router with 01.497 to any firmware, newer than 01.999. Early "02.xxx" firmware versions already require bootloader's upgrade.

There is no reason for you to downgrade router from 03.832 to 01.497 firmware, since this would not provide any relevant information for you. I.e. This lab router with 03.832 already uses newer bootloader version than the ones in the fields, therefore upgrade process would be seamless. However, performing same actions on your field router would brick them. Trying to upgrade bootloader of the router, which is already "bricked", might damage the router irreversibly.

The correct procedure in this is case is to upgrade router's bootloader first and only then its firmware. If you want to "test/check" the procedure, this should be done with one of your device, which is still using 01.497 firmware (and therefore - older bootloader version)

Hi thanks.

Is there a way on 1.497 routers to get the ICCID from our sim cards in the network.

We notice that the command gsmctl -J does not work on 1.497

thanks]

You can try using "gsmctl -A AT+ICCID?" command. This command should return ICCID value.

that worked great thank you.
