Hello,

I have a problem with update teltonika RUT9XX form very old firmware (RUT9XX_00.03.528) to the newest version (RUT9XX_00.06.05.1).
Before firmware update I marked "Keep all settings" but after update router was factory rebooted with cleaned APN data.

Without APN data router was cut off the internet and I had to connect directly to router in the location.
That was 300 km away from the company office and we have few such routers with old firmware version in different locations.

Is there any save way to upgrade routers from that old firmware version without loosing settings data?
I had no problem with upgrade from versions 5.XX or 6.XX. I have all firmware versions

Best regards,
Grzegorz

Hello,

You can try couple of ways to keep your settings. First is to try and upgrade from server. You will have to do that two times, because first you will get to upgrade to version: RUT9XX_R_00.04.75 , and after that to newest version: RUT9XX_R_00.06.05 or another newer version of yours choice, then yours setting should stay. You can download same versions from https://wiki.teltonika.lt/view/RUT9xx_Firmware and do it manually.

Second option is for failsafe if configuration is still removed you can use SMS utilities to set APN for your router and enable remote access for further configuration without going to the location full list of SMS commands and it's usage can be found here: https://wiki.teltonika.lt/view/RUT955_SMS_Utilities#Rule_Overview_and_editing

Two important lines for you would be <password> cellular apn=<your APN>  to set apn, and <pasword> reboot to reboot router.

Thank you but there is also a problem "which password".
Right now I have a situation with update where I lost connection (http, icmp) with Teltonika router.

If APN is removed, does it mean that password for administrator user is factory rebooted also?

CONFIRMED: default admin password worked!

Good to hear, also if you are not sure which password to use, you can send SMS with "<password> status" and if router does not send SMS with its status back, try another one.

I hava a problem with status request with a few Teltonika routers because there is no response from the router.
SMS managements is turned on and I can reboot the router but router cannot send me sms which is probably blocked by our network operator.
