For testing reasons I am trying to load an older Firmware to the RUT950.

I get an error:

Firmware upgrade - verification failed

This device's provisioning doesn't allow it to be downgraded to a firmware version older than RUT9XX_R_00.06.00.
Ensure to get a correct firmware image and try to upgrade again.

Please help
!!!

Hello,

New devices can't be downgraded below RUT9XX_R_00.06.00, because older FW versions do not support the new flash model. If you installed an older FW, the router would stop working.

Hi well it is a little more complicated...

I am testing a DYI FirmWare for a friend of mine. For this reason I bought a new RUT950.

Problem is that the DYI FirmWare is "older" than the newest one on a brand new box so it will not "allow" me to put it on.

I could ask my friend to give his DYI FirmWare a newer date but thought there is an easier way....

Is it possible to do this without using a SSH command cosole?

Unfortunately there's just no way. As I've mentioned previously, the older FW will not recognize the new router's flash chip.

So you would have to compile a new firmware.

What was different in the DIY firmware from the standard firmware?
