Hello, i have an ip cam attached to my router, the ip of the cam is 192.168.1.202 .

The router internal IP is 192.168.1.200 and has a sim with a public IP.

I opened port 554 for RTSP

Made a port forwarding rule from wan to ip 192.168.1.202 for port 554.

Now when i try to connect with VLC to the RTSP server of the cam the connection gets "rejected by peer". If i try to connect to the cam locally using VLC it connects fine, so i guess it is a router misconfiguration but i am at a loss at the moment, any help would be appreciated.

I have other appliances on the same network for wich i opened ports and made ports forwarding rules that work with no probs.

regards,

Corrado

Hello,

Try checking attached manual which should help you to configure your router to be able to view live video from VLC.https://community.teltonika-networks.com/?qa=blob&qa_blobid=5783490615755797336

Make sure that router is reachable via it's public IP address.

As already described previously, i already can reach public ip address of the router and several other devices already inside the private network (behind router firewall). So i already made several port opening and port forwarding.

My problem is with RTSP wich doesn't work from public address and for wich, as previously described, i already opened port 554 (port used by my camera for RTSP) and forwarded port to my camera. If i connect to the private network i can see my camera using RTSP, so i am sure my connection string is correct.
