Hello ralf.kraemer,

Could you specify, what kind of UPS monitoring are you expecting and what kind of connection you need?

Because USB port on RUT955 can be used for connecting network storage, as printer server, connecting USB modem, or as a USB to Serial port for TCP/IP connection. More information on USB to Serial can be found here: https://wiki.teltonika.lt/view/RUT955_USB_Tools#USB_to_serial but it it does not fit your needs then UPS monitoring through USB port will not be posible.

Best regards,
VidasKac.

Hello VidasKac,

it's an cyberpower UPS.

A functionality like NUT would be great of course.
But I would also be happy with an usb network extension to another PC.
The most important thing is to detect a defective battery, because the device has to run 24x7 remote. A technician visit there is very expensive.

Thanks

Ralf

Hello,

RUT955 does not have such function built in, but there are NUT packages for installation (in SSH or CLI: opkg update and then opkg install nut) you can find config files in /etc/nut directory. Sadly I didn't have opportunity to test it before, so I can't guarantee anything, before you test it with yours UPS. For additional info you should look in this OpenWRT guide for NUT installation and configuration: https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/services/ups/software.nut

Hope this helps,
Regards,
VidasKac.
