I have a RUT240 with firmware RUT2XX_R_00.00.348

I am trying to enable remote access to the WebUI but it fails. This is what I did:

  1. tick in the enable remote access (HTTP) for WebUI, I use port 80
  2. in firewalls section I have enabled "Enable_HTTP_WAN_PASSTHROUGH" rule that is already configured by the router.
  3. in the General settings of the Firewall I have changed "Forward" from "Reject" to "Accept"
  4. Rebooted the router

From my web browser I write:

http://<mypublicIP>:80

I expect the webUI to show up just as it does when I connect locally to the router but it fails. The page is not loaded. Can this be controlled/blocked by my telecom provider (I'm using a SIM)?

I have seen other once having the same problem but I cannot find a solution.

I can add that I spoke to my telecom provider and they say that the WAN IP read from RUT240 is not the public IP I can use from the web browser. I am still trying to understand how to find the public IP.

The telecom provider told me to use the GGSN IP of the SIM card (I have access to a SIM management portal) but that IP is not accessible from internet either.

I will follow this up.

Hello,

Please try updating your software. You can find instructions here: https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/RUT240_Firmware

Strange, as part of my preparations this morning I uploaded and upgraded the router to the latest Firmware (I did the update from the router), do you mean that my firmware is old? Ok, I will check this again.

You are right, I failed to uprade the router to the latest firmware?? I will upgrade immediately.

You have mentioned that you use RUT2XX_R_00.00.348 although the latest version is RUT2XX_R_00.01.11.3
