Hello,

I'm trying to send an SMS to a US number via the router web app 'Send SMS' function, but the top of the screen goes red when I press send. The field validation on the number is red also, suggesting an invalid number (it isn't).

I can send SMS from the web app to other non-US numbers.

What the problem?

Cheers,

Nathan

Hi,

First, upgrade your firmware please. HERE

After that

  • Make sure correct APN is used. Some operators require different APNs for different data/SMS plans. APN settings could be checked/filled in Network → Mobile section.
  • Make sure the SIM card supports SMS. Have you managed to send SMS successfully from other devices using that SIM? Can your ISP confirm that your plan supports SMS or whether supporting SMS requires some special settings?

Seems to be a browser bug.

SMS Forwarding works fine. I can manually send an SMS in Chrome for Android, but not on Chrome for Mac or Safari.

Update - seems to be a Mac OSx cut and paste problem. Typing the number in the field from scratch works. Must be some hidden/invalid characters.
