Hello, since i updated to latest production firmware FW VER: RUTX_R_00.02.00.2  i do not have OpenVPN zones anymore.

Openvpn connects and works but i need to make some rules to forward some ports on the vpn network and option is not there anymore. I tried to use any host in Wan but i keep getting refused if i try to log from a vpn client.

Is there a way to have OpenVPN zones back again?

I submitted a question about an hour ago - unable to ping addresses on the Internet when a VPN Connection is active - this post appear to cover the same issue.

I really look forward to a fix, as I purchased the RUTX11 in order to protect a sensitive network with a VPN.

Any timeframe for a fix ?

Regards

Michael

Hello.

Please update your device to the latest firmware version RUTX_R_00.02.01.1

https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/RUTX11_Firmware_Downloads

When you create an OpenVPN instance, a traffic rule will be created automatically.

You will see it on the tab: Network->Firewall->Traffic rules.

For management traffic forwarding policies between different zones of the router go to the tab: Network->Firewall->General settings

More information:

Kind regards.

I am already on latest and did a factory reset and installed latest firmware, openvpn rule wasn't created after i created an openvpn instance, it is not the first i setup that is why i wrote it is very odd.

It doesn't even create default port rules for 1194

Please send me troubleshoot file via PM (System->Administration->Troubleshoot).

Is there any news on this? The problem seems bigger than just the zones/rules not forming. The entire VPN just doesn't comunicate anything, it connects to my openvpn server but that is all,m not a single bit goes trough, i can't even ping the virtual ip ov the vpn. I am sure the server i connect to is working because i have another router and some windows clients connecting and working no prob.

It looks like in the X11 firmware there is something broken that prevents OpenVPN as a client to work correctly.

Please help

Just to make sure it wasn't me doing something wrong i just installed my old RUT955 and all worked, i configured it as an OpenVPN client and it all worked at first try. I could reach it and all port forwarding and zoning worked.

Before testing i ugraded it to latest firmware.

I am now back to the X11 but i think it has something orribly wrong on firmware.

Ok, make sure all the binding work once the OpenVPN client is created, because the rules doesn't look like the only problem on the X11 about the VPN client.

Do you have an idea on how long it'll take to have a fix?

Same here. This is really annoying I just spent the whole day trying to solve it. Turns out to be a bug :(
Is there a workaround? Any estimation for when a fix will be available?

Hello.

A new firmware will be available soon. This issue will be fixed.

New firmware should be added here: https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/RUTX11_Firmware_Downloads
