We use a router to connect a controller based on a simple lan controller (works only on 10Mb). In connection with RUT230, we lose communication. If we use the switch between the controller and the router is OK.

Do you have any idea what it can be?

Hello,

Do you know what is the Ethernet chip used in your controller ?

It is most likely due to the processor not communicating with the controllers Ethernet chip about the negotiation speeds. For RUT2XX LAN there is internal switch and we can't change it's negotiation speeds.

For workaround you could try to use WAN port as LAN, WAN port is connected directly to the CPU, thus we can control it.

For workaround please follow this:

In the router terminal use these commands:

opkg update

opkg install ethtool

ethtool -s eth1 speed 10 autoneg off duplex full

Thank you for your answer.

We use chip : DM9161.

I will try a few ethtool settings.

Well then my first assumption is correct. Issue with this Ethernet chip is known so workaround with WAN as LAN should suit your needs.
