Greetings,

All RutOS devices with mobile interface and Queltec modems are using QMI by default.

Is it possible to change this, as in RUT 955, if so, how? If not, maybe you plan to add a choice( "QMI" OR "PPP" . (We encountered some problems in "QMI" mode in RUT 955 and only "PPP" mode solved the problem). So I ask.

Thank you

Unfortunately, there is no way to do this at this moment, but could I ask you what kind of problems you were facing with RUT955 and QMI?

Hi,
We have found that if we use "QMI" mode and we want to communicate between RUT955 and other cellular router with WAN IP address that is close to the IP address of the RUT955, the communication is not possible. For example: If you have the RUT955 with static WAN IP address: 10.213.44.6 and you want to establish a connection to router with IP 10.213.44.4, the connection will fail. With IP 10.213.44.3, for example, the connection will be just fine. When we changed to "PPP" mode, we established the connection (between IP 10.213.44.6 and IP 10.213.44.4) without a problem.
Please see the attached screenshot for more information (the screenshot is when the unit is "QMI" mode).
It looks like the unit is using this IP (10.213.44.4) for some "internal" use (in the red rectangle).

Hi,

Could you please upload a screenshot again? For some reason, it's not showing up.

Could you try sending me separate pictures? It seems that you put everything into one and it decreases the resolution of screenshots. You could do it by taking screenshots one by one and uploading them to any free image file hosting sites.

Thank you.

Hi,

We did another test.

We used:

1. RUTX 09 (last firmware)

1. RUT 955 (last firmware)

We got the same results that we described earlier. If 2 devices in QMI mode, then there is no ping.

if one of them (RUT 955)  is in PPP MODE, everything works well.
