Question

Hi,

I was hoping for some clarification on SNMP for RUT850. Within the product page and under Features > Monitoring & Management it says:

SNMP (optional)

SNMP (v1, v2, v3), SNMP trap

 

I was curious what is meant by optional? I have one of these units and I don't seem to have an option for SNMP under Services like on the RUT950s I already use. Did I need to buy a certain type and missed out on SNMP?

Hello, 

In RUT850 in the standard firmware SNMP is not included on the system package. It's either you contact your sales manger if you want to request a firmware that is having this SNMP functionality. Or if you can implement it by yourself using OpenWRT snmpd package.

Hello,

I also want to install the snmpd package via OpenWRT on the RUT850. I get this error.

# opkg install snmpd

Installing snmpd (5.4.4-1) to root...

Downloading http://downloads.openwrt.org/chaos_calmer/15.05.1/ar71xx/generic/packages/packages/snmpd_5.4.4-1_ar71xx.ipk.

Collected errors:

 * satisfy_dependencies_for: Cannot satisfy the following dependencies for snmpd:

 * libc * libc * 

 * opkg_install_cmd: Cannot install package snmpd.

Do you know how I can solve this problem.
