Question

The Generation of DH Parameters with 4096 Bit Key Length failed after several hours without notice. I then tried to generate DH Parameters with shorter Key length, which worked fine. It took about 45 Minutes with a 2048 Bit Key.

The average CPU-Load was approx. 30% during each key generation. Is there any idea why the process aborted?
How long should it usually take to generate a 4096 Bit Key?

My second try was successful: I took about 6 hours to generate the 4096 Bit DH Parameters.
